Baptism at Resurrection Downtown
Holy Baptism is a Covenant between an individual and God. It is God’s word to us, proclaiming our adoption by grace and our word to God, promising our response of faith and love.
Church of the Resurrection welcomes your inquiry about the Sacrament of Baptism and we look forward to assisting your family with planning this special day. It is our desire to make your baptism a most memorable occasion.
Persons of all ages can be baptized at Church of the Resurrection. Non-members are encouraged to seek membership as soon as possible after being baptized. We baptize by sprinkling Holy Water and make the sign of the cross on the forehead with anointing oil to invite the presence of the Holy Spirit. Once a year an immersion service is conducted in the Memorial Garden at the Leawood campus. To learn more contact Ed Flener.
The United Methodist Church recognizes baptisms from other faiths and churches and therefore does not “re-baptize.”
Please note that baptism meetings and special baptism services will not be cancelled due to inclement weather.
