The Law of Moses and the Economy of God
Date Presented: Oct 14, 2001
Scripture Reference(s): Exodus 19:1-6
Sermon Series: Moses
This sermon looks at the story of the giving of the Law to Moses.
Moses and Israel faced a tough situation as they were becoming a nation - no laws, no justice system, no concrete religious practices, no law enforcement officers. In giving the Law God was graciously trying to protect and save Israel from anarchy and self-destruction. In order for those who were not religious to follow the Law, God would have to demonstrate his power in a way that might actually inspire the "fear of God" in the hearts of those who might not otherwise obey his commandments.
